Invest in Your Business by Becoming a Rio Vista Chamber Member

There is no easier way to plug into Rio Vista’s vital and active business community and local events than through membership in the Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce.

Major Exposure at Chamber’s Rio Vista Events
Members are offered free booth space at our summertime Sidewalk Saturday events, and reduced prices on space at the weekly Farmers Market and the annual Bass Derby & Festival held each October. They also are invited to sponsor one of our mixers at their place of business as well as receive early notification on sponsorship opportunities for all events.

Website Listing
You will receive a free listing in the Business Directory on our website with your logo or photo and a link directly to your website. Our website is used by people interested in visiting the city and participating in our commerce and daily life as well as Rio Vista residents.

Monthly E-Blast
Our monthly E-Blast covering chamber activities, business news, mixer dates, a calendar of events each month and general items of interest is emailed to our members. In the Members News section, our members can add flyers and information about special events and sales.

After Hours Mixers
On the third Wednesday of every month, one of our members hosts a mixer so everyone can network with the other businesses in our Chamber. It gives everyone an opportunity to meet new people and visit with old friends while learning about local businesses and what they offer. If you are interested in hosting a mixer, please get in touch with Robin Sibert at the Chamber office, 707-374-2700. (Activity suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, but will be restarted in 2021)

Member Exclusive Universal Gift Certificates
To reach potential customers, the Chamber also offers a program of local gift certificates, available for purchase at the Rio Vista Visitor Center (37 N. 2nd Street) in any amount up to $100. They will be honored by various Chamber Member Businesses who display the “Rio Vista First” sticker in their window or at the cash register. This allows the recipient to choose where they want to shop within Rio Vista. Merchants receive 100% reimbursement within 7-10 business days.

Business of the Month Promotion
Each month at our mixers, our members select (by ballot) a Retail and a Service business for the next month. These selections are publicized in articles in the local newspapers, on our website and in our newsletter. Businesses of the Month receives a unique window cling about their special status to display in their storefront windows.

Visitors Center
The Chamber sponsors a Visitors Center at 33 N. Second St., where visitors can find information on local businesses and ask for referrals to member businesses from our volunteer staff as well as purchase our Delta Map and merchandise carrying Rio Vista and Bass Derby graphics. Your business cards and flyers can be displayed and handed out here at no cost to you.

Community Outreach
In order to make other localities aware of all that is going on in Rio Vista, the Chamber pursues a number of outreach activities, including active social media pages and sites, and production of the Delta Life annual magazine and the popular Delta Map. We also appear in the Discover Solano and Discover Lodi publications, and interact with other Chambers in the area. Occasionally, we participate in events outside our city, such as the Sportsmen’s Expo in Sacramento. Our members are invited to provide information, materials and displays for these outreach opportunities.

Publications
In December 2020, the Chamber produced the Adventure Guide to Rio Vista and our Delta, with listings of Chamber members and all Rio Vista businesses as well as helpful information for visitors and prospective residents. It will be updated and issued yearly, to be handed out at the Sportsmen’s Expo in Sacramento (2,000 copies) as part of our Bass Derby promotion, and distributed to marinas, restaurants and stores in the Delta. Chamber members receive first notice of advertising opportunities at special low rates for the publication before opening it up to non-members.

The Chamber also produces a map of Rio Vista that features advertising from local businesses and is handed out free at the Visitor Center and throughout the city. It was last produced in 2018, and is due for an update this year. Again, Chamber members receive first notice of advertising opportunities before opening it up to non-members.

Government Representation
Members of the Board and volunteer staff represent business at City Council and Planning Commission Meetings, The Highway 12 Committee, Public Safety and a number of County, State and Federal committees.
